Tremont - Lincoln ParkThe Tremont neighborhood has become a center for arts and entertainment in the City of Cleveland.  The area's dense urban fabric, angled streets and unique mix of residential and commercial architecture have made is one the the premier walking districts in the city.  Tremont has become known for its coffee shops, galleries, bars and restaurants all within walking distance of Lincoln Park the neighborhood's town square.  Helping to coordinate the commercial and residential development in the neighborhood is the Tremont West Development Corportation.  Tremont is located less than five minutes from downtown Cleveland, accessible from Interstate 90 and 71 at the West 14th Street exits or Interstate 490 at the West 7th Street exit. Public transportation can be accessed by the number 81 bus line or the Rapid Transit Red Line.

The Tremont neighborhood was settled by Connecticut farmers and became a center of learning with the building of Cleveland University. The university failed, but left the neighborhood with the building and the associated street names Literary, College, Professor and University. As industrialization continued, the area became home to immigrants who worked in the steel mills in the Flats.  Learn more about the history of Tremont here.

The housing stock in Tremont is probably the most diverse in the City of Cleveland. The styles range from very large homes on West 14th Street to Victorian, Italianate, Colonials, doubles, townhouses, workers cottages, loft condominiums, storefronts and upscale new construction. A number of the lots in the neighborhood contain two or even three homes. Also scattered throughout the community are storefront buildings that once housed businesses but have since been used for residential purposes or live/work space. A ride down the oddly-angled streets in the neighborhood gives one an idea of the European feel in the neighborhood.

Tremont has seen a lot of new construction homes and townhomes over the years.  A following are a few examples:
