Mary Hromyko made a big career change after spending the first 25 years of her professional life fundraising for such renowned Cleveland institutions as the Gordon Square Arts District and University Circle Inc. She also spent an impressive 18 of those 25 years at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, where she created the popular young professionals group, the Nature League.
Eight years ago, she left that field and joined Progressive Urban Real Estate — a move that allowed her to continue to put her passion for Cleveland and its cultural history to use.
As a Realtor, her favorite part of selling real estate is guiding young and first-time homeowners through the complex process of buying a home.
Sam McNulty, Cleveland entrepreneur and developer of a seven-unit townhouse project in Duck Island that Hromyko represented, refers to her as an inspiration and said when it comes to the Cleveland real estate industry, she is "a thought leader."
"Mary is a passionate advocate for the city of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio and the tremendous quality of life we enjoy here," McNulty said.
Currently, Hromyko serves on the Capital Campaign Board for the May Dugan Center in Ohio City and volunteers for several civic organizations in the Cleveland area.
